Reducing Health-Care Utilization in Pulmonary Embolism by Predicting Readmissions

Our proposal is to develop an image analytic software platform to assess the vascular remodeling and heterogeneity of the pulmonary vascular bed and its impact on cardiac remodeling with the ultimate goal to predict recurrence in patients suffering from Pulmonary embolism (PE), which is a common disease with an incidence greater than 1 per 1000, (300k patients/year in the US), and a three month mortality rate of 15%.
