Framingham Heart Study Pulmonary Research Center

The goal of this project is to provide detailed objective measures of emphysema, airway disease, and vascular disease in both cardiac and volumetric CT scans of the lungs of subjects enrolled in the Framingham Heart Study.  As associate director of the Pulmonary Research Center and Primary Investigator of the Brigham and Women’s Hospital subcontract, Dr. Washko is responsible for assisting Dr. George O’Connor (Overall PI) in the organization of the effort as well as being directly responsible for the CT analysis efforts.

Raúl is co-director of the Applied Chest Imaging Laboratory, lead scientist at Brigham and Women's Hospital and Associate Professor of Radiology at Harvard Medical School. With a background in Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Valladolid in Spain, Raúl has dedicated his career to advancing medical imaging techniques and applications.
