ACIL: 2007-2011

Dr. Gazourian is a graduate of the Harvard Combined Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship program; he is currently enrolled in the Master of Public Health degree program at the Harvard School of Public Health. His primary research interests are exploring the pulmonary complications of Allogeneic Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation. His current projects focus on Bronchiolitis Obliterans Sydrome (BOS) a form of irreversible airflow obstruction and a late, non-infectious pulmonary complication following hematopoietic stem cell transplantation which is associated with a significant increase in morbidity and mortality. These current projects study the epidemiology, quantitative high-resolution computed tomography findings and plasma biomarkers in BOS. 

Dr. Gazourian is also a member of the Brigham and Women’s Hospital Registry of Critical Illness (RoCI). The RoCI was developed to provide a data base of demographic, clinical information and blood specimens from patients with critical illness. To date the RoCI has enrolled over 300 patients. 

Dr. Gazourian attends in the medical ICU and teaches cardiac and respiratory pathophysiology at Harvard Medical School.
